          The Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, Sri Lanka, the temple which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha, is possibly the most sacred Buddhist shrine in the world and a UNESCO designated World Heritage Centre was attacked by the LTTE on 25th January 1998

        Yugoslavia claimed that NATO attacks caused between 1,200 and 5,700 civilian casualties. NATO's Secretary General, Lord Robertson, wrote after the war that "the actual toll in human lives will never be precisely known" but he then offered the figures found in a report by Human Rights Watch as a reasonable estimate. This report counted between 488 and 527 civilian deaths (90 to 150 of them killed from cluster bomb use) in 90 separate incidents, the worst of which were the 87 Albanian refugees who perished at the hands of NATO bombs, near Koriša.

         The “Linga link” was a performance by Ravibandu Vidyapathi as an interpretive dialogue with the installation work “Camouflaged Linga” by G. R. Constantine attempt to the installation of a camouflaged linga by G. R. Constantine. Camouflaged linga itself as an interpretative commentry of a male dominated activity

  
The Story of the Cinnamon Tree
       The work “the Story of the Cinnamon Tree” was a collaborative work by 9 artists. It included 2 installations and five performances that got interwoven into one large work that produced different layers of meaning. Jagath Weerasinghe, Tripura Kasyhup, Santiphap Inkong-Ngam, Anoli Perera, Lee Wen, G. R. Constantine, Bandu Manamperi, Pradeep Chandrasiri, Ravibandu Vidyapathi collaborated in the project. 



Urban and the Individual

          Urban and the Individual exhibition was an exercise for artists to think, discuss and articulate on social and cultural phenomena that is usually taken for granted and to search for new ways and means to interpret situations of life beyond the conventional and the predictable through their art. The exhibition explored the tensions and the celebration of self within workings of present day cultural /social forces that are defined by the global economies, technological abundance and highly consumer free market systems. The exhibition was held at Finomenal Space gallery, Colombo from 5th to 11th November 2004 with the participation of 19 artists. 
  
                                                                                            
                                                                                                                                                              




Imaging the aftermath
